Our Services
Recycling
Efficient national collection service for recyclables. Waste sorted, delivered to recycling partners. Unrecyclable waste assessed, exploring eco-friendly disposal options. Collected items include cans, glass, appliances, plastic, cardboard, e-Waste.
Waste Management
South Africans produce 122 million tonnes of waste annually, with only 10% recycled. Waste avoidance is crucial. WE RECYCLE focuses on responsible waste management, recycling, and minimizing landfill disposal.
Organic Waste Management
We divert South Africa’s organic waste from landfills through composting methods, including black soldier fly, vermicomposting, and heat composting. Our recovery technologies also generate electricity and fuels sustainably.
We offer free a free waste management audit!

Recycling
We have an extensive national network of established recyclers which allows us to offer you an efficient, trusted service for collections.
With our Waste Management solution, all the recyclables below are sorted from your waste and then delivered to our recycling partners. There the waste is sorted, weighed, and baled. It will then run through its respective thorough recycling process.
WE RECYCLE then meticulously evaluates any leftover waste that is deemed unrecyclable or incapable of being repurposed. We then try to find sustainable, non-landfill disposal alternatives such as waste-to energy solutions and composting.
Here is list of recyclables that we collect:
- Cans
- Glass bottles
- Moving boxes
- Large appliances
- Plastic and plastic bottles
- Cardboard boxes and cartons
- e-Waste (any electrical or electronic devices)
Waste Management
According to the latest available statistics, South Africans generate roughly 122 million tonnes of waste per year. Of this waste, a maximum of only 10% is recycled or recovered for other uses, while at least 90% is landfilled or dumped illegally (2022).
Waste avoidance and reduction is the foundation of the waste management hierarchy and is the most preferred waste management option. The aim of waste avoidance and reduction is to achieve waste minimization and thus reducing the amount of waste entering the waste stream. This is particularly relevant for waste streams where recycling, recovery, treatment or disposal of the waste is problematic.
We all (businesses and individuals) create waste. All though managing our waste remains our shared responsibility, sorting and handling it responsibly requires expertise. Some waste is recyclable and has value. It is our passion to extract value from waste and then ensure that any waste in which value cannot be extracted is correctly disposed of.
WE RECYCLE works onsite to audit, sort, remove and handle your waste responsibly. Our goal is to create value for your waste (through recycling) and to ensure that as little as possible ends up in landfills.
Organic Waste Management
Organic waste is any material that is biodegradable and comes from either a plant or an animal. Biodegradable waste is organic material that can be broken into carbon dioxide, methane or simple organic molecules.
Examples of organic waste include green waste, food waste, food-soiled paper, non-hazardous wood waste, green waste, and landscape and pruning waste. When organic waste is dumped in landfills, it undergoes anaerobic decomposition (due to the lack of oxygen) and produces methane.
Our aim is to ensure that organic waste generated in South Africa is diverted from landfill sites (where viable) for composting through integrated and sustainable waste management planning. Our team also collects organic waste to transform it into compost. This is achieved through black soldier fly composting, vermicomposting and heat composting.
Our team is currently working tirelessly on some recovery technologies that provide alternative options that also allow the generation of electricity, production of heat for industrial purposes and the generation of other fuels for secondary energy production.
We have the infrastructure, expertise and certifications to collect and manage the disposal of all your food and organic waste in a responsible and cost-effective way.
